Shutter+ 6.0 brings GPS tagging and more reliable camera connections

Shutter+ 6.0 is out now, bringing some of the most requested features to the camera remote app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. The update adds GPS location tagging for compatible Canon and Sony cameras, fixes the “Unable to join the network” error, and introduces a one-tap Disconnect button. It also adds iPhone Duo support, Lock Screen progress updates, and expanded camera compatibility.

What's New in 6.0

GPS location tagging. Add location data to your photos as you shoot. Location sharing uses Bluetooth Low Energy to keep it efficient and working even when the app is closed.
More reliable connections. A rebuilt connection layer fixes the “Unable to join the network” error when connecting to a camera.
One-tap disconnect. End the camera connection and return to your home, office, or cellular network without changing Wi-Fi settings by hand.
iPhone Duo support. Shutter+ is ready for iPhone Duo, with remote shooting and video monitoring controls adapted to its display.
Shooting and download progress on the Lock Screen. Check updates such as “Downloading 5 of 132” or “Photo 3 of 7: focusing” without unlocking your iPhone.
USB support for more Sony cameras. More Sony photographers can use a wired connection for remote shooting and tethering.
Audio levels for more Canon cameras. Expanded support lets more Canon filmmakers monitor audio levels in Shutter+.
Jump to the latest photo. A new button in the Recent Photos gallery takes you straight to the newest image.
Interface refinements. Smaller UI fixes throughout the app make everyday shooting smoother.

Pricing and Availability

Shutter+ 6.0 is available now on the App Store as a free update for existing users. A single purchase works across all supported camera brands and iOS devices, including Family Sharing.

Shutter+ remains available as three separate App Store apps so existing subscriptions and lifetime purchases continue working. All three apps receive the same updates and support compatible Sony, Canon, and Fujifilm cameras. New users can choose the app named for their preferred manufacturer.
