Touch to Focus

Tap anywhere on the live view to direct the camera’s focus to that point. The behavior depends on the current touch mode.

Sony Touch Modes

With some Sony cameras, a small touch focus mode icon will appear in the bottom right corner of the app to adjust focusing mode.

Focus — tapping sets the focus point without taking a photo. The camera focuses on where you tap, and you can then press the shutter button when ready. This is the most commonly used mode.

Tracking — tapping selects a subject. The camera locks onto it and continuously adjusts focus as the subject moves. Useful for following a person or object across the frame.

When tracking is active, the icon will change to Cancel focus button.

Visual Feedback

When you tap to focus, the focus frame will briefly turn green or red indicating if focus was successfully achieved.
