Slow Live View or Laggy Performance

The live view is choppy, the shutter response is delayed, or previews load slowly.

Primary Cause

iPhones share a single antenna between Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. When Bluetooth is active, it competes with the camera’s Wi-Fi signal and slows down data transfer.

Fixes

  1. Disable Bluetooth from iOS Settings (not Control Center). Control Center only disconnects active devices — it doesn’t turn off the Bluetooth radio.
  2. Set up the Bluetooth Shortcut to toggle Bluetooth automatically when you connect and disconnect.
  3. Reduce preview quality to 2M in camera’s Remote Shoot Settings (Sony only). Smaller images transfer faster.
  4. Move closer to the camera.
  5. Avoid crowded Wi-Fi environments — areas with many 2.4 GHz networks cause more interference.

5 GHz Cameras

If your Sony camera supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi, enable it in the menu. The 5 GHz band uses a separate antenna, so Bluetooth doesn’t interfere.
