Connection Stuck on “Initializing”

The app connects to the camera’s Wi-Fi but stays on “Initializing” and never reaches the remote control screen.

Causes

  • A VPN or firewall app on your iPhone is intercepting local network traffic between the phone and camera.
  • Another device is already connected to the camera’s Wi-Fi (most cameras allow only one client).

Fixes

  1. Disable VPN apps. VPNs can intercept the local network traffic Shutter+ uses to communicate with the camera.
  2. Disable firewall or network monitoring apps.
  3. Disconnect other devices from the camera’s Wi-Fi.
  4. Restart your iPhone to clear network state, then try again.
