Sony: Very Slow Photo Capture

Photo capture takes a very long time, and the app may show a preview size warning.

Cause

The save destination is set to transfer original-quality files to your iPhone after every shot. Full-resolution files (especially RAW) are large and slow to transfer over Wi-Fi.

Fix

Set the preview quality to 2M (Preview) in the Remote Shoot Settings in the camera menu. This transfers a smaller preview to your iPhone after each shot, which is much faster. The original stays on the camera’s memory card.

Use original quality only when you specifically need full-resolution copies on your iPhone and prefer using USB tethering for such scenarios.
